Thunderphobia? HA!!!!!!

Dear Forever Family,
As you can see, I am very chilled about thunderstorms.
I bet I could be even more chilled at your house.

While you're thinking about it, I'll snooze a bit. Mostly, I'll be dreaming of you.
Yawn......

Sad, sad day

Dear Forever Family,
Things are awful here.
Duncan got on the bed I wanted and wouldn’t give it up.
Foster Mom put up the talking toys. She says I break them. I have to make do with the million and one other toys.
I don’t get to meet everybody I see. Even salesmen need my love.
Foster Dad would not let me put my nose on the kitchen counter. I just wanted to make sure he made his sandwich right.
Foster Mom got out the baby pool and it started raining.
I play bowed and did helicopter tail for a Boston Terror. He tried to bite me. He could have taken off my extra special, dainty nose.
Foster Mom has a shaky toy. She says it is pills, and I can’t play with it. I would like a shaky toy.
I am smart and sweet and loving and beautiful. I am learning all the new rules super fast.
You can see how rough my life is. I need my Forever Family to come get me. Now!!!!!! Please?
Waiting faithfully for you,
Blessing

I'm so pretty

My foster family wakes up entirely too early. They woke me at 6:30. I think 8:00 is reasonable. I do need my beauty sleep.

Speaking of that, Foster Mom says I need to let you know how beautiful I am.

I know all greyhounds are beautiful, but I am especially pretty. I am an average size for a female. You won’t have to worry about me being too big, but you won’t mistake me for a Yorkie either.

Folks say I have a super beautiful head. It is small and delicate. My nose is narrow and darker than my face. I have the perfect amount of eyeliner. I don’t want to look trashy. My make-up is classy and gorgeous.

I have the softest ears in the world. I have taught them to do at least 15 tricks more than other hounds. I try not to make other hounds feel bad about my skills, but I would like show you all of my ear tricks.

I do have a few scars from my racing career. I was a very good racer and I put my all into it. Foster Mom says I have beauty marks, not scars. I’m sort of like Marie Antoinette that way. There is a beauty mark over one eye that makes folks look deep into my eyes and see my sweet soul. You’ll see when you meet me.

Oops. I almost forgot. I have a tail that has hair all the way down. Yes, it is a long, smooth swoop of fawn. Elegant and stunning just like the rest of me. And, I have hair on my bum! I am not saying anything bad about hairless bums. Lots of folks think bare bums show off muscles more. I’m just saying I have soft hair on mine.

I am not stuck up. Please remember that Foster Mom made me write this. Of course, it is easy to write when you are as spectacular as I am…..

Well, it’s 10:30 a.m. and I need my third nap of the day.

Waiting on my forever home, Blessing

Hello from Blessing

Tuesday I moved into my until-I-get-a-forever-home foster home. My first foster mom broke her ankle so I went to a temporary foster family. They have lots of hounds. I liked them and they liked me. They would have kept me if their inn wasn’t already full.

The ride to my new foster home was long. That didn’t matter. I lay down on the seat and rested the whole way.

My foster brother, Duncan, and I took a walk as soon as I got to his home. We like each other.

My foster parents showed me the house. I am curious and smart. I wanted to see it all. I especially liked the chair full of stuffies.

My foster parents ate lunch right away. Duncan and I flopped on the carpet close to them. I am very adaptable to new circumstances.

I got to check out the back yard and have a quick run. I came back in as soon as I was called.

Foster Mom took me on a walk by myself. She said I needed to learn a few more leash manners. In less than five minutes, I learned what Loose Leash is. That means I don’t get to move if the leash is tight.

I showed off how smart I am. There was a squirrel playing 30 feet away. I stood next to Foster Mom with a Loose Leash. Next time I’ll probably go after the squirrel, but I fooled her this time. Told you I was smart.

I slept in my crate. I admit it. I cried for a bit. Then I settled down and didn’t move all night long.

We did lots of other stuff on my first day, but I’m tired and need to take a nap.

Sending houndee love while I wait for my forever home, Blessing

Fun with Blessing

Flying Blessing has been visiting her cousins, Doc and Elsie. She gets along well with other greyhounds, but I really think she likes people even better.

If you're looking for a dog who is curious, comical, with a great personality, this girl will put a smile on your face. She's so eager to learn about every new thing she sees. Her greatest discovery is stuffies! She loves to throw them into the air and then pounce on them. Then she dances through the room as if to say, "Look at me! Isn't this fun?"

She's ready to hop in your car and head to her forever home. She'll even bring her own stuffie.
